Slovaks in Australia 2012 Calendar
Slovaks in Australia 2012 is a wall calendar with pictures of Slovaks wearing folk costumes in the streets of Melbourne.
The calendar is a not for profit community project of Slovaks living in Melbourne. Production of the calendar started after the Slovaks marched in the folk costumes at the 2011 Australia Day People's March.
The Slovaks in Australia 2012 sale officially commenced on the 2011 Day of Slovaks Living Abroad, on 5. July. You can buy it directly at one of our pick-up locations or order it at the product order page.

Prvá marcová nedeľa bola v českej a slovenskej reštaurácii Koliba rušnejšia ako obyčajne, a to už skorého rána. Hlavný stan si v nej rozložili profesionálny fotograf Juraj Polák, jeho šestnásť modelov, kameraman a niekoľko kamarátov. V tento deň sa v okolitých uliciach štvrtí Fitzroy a Collingwood fotografoval kalendár Slováci v Austrálii 2012.

Keď sme v januári tohto roku pochodovali v 2011 Australia Day People's March, hrdí a s úsmevom od ucha k uchu, oblečení v nádherných slovenských krojoch, niekto navrhol, aby sme sa v nich odfotili a zo záberov pripravili kalendár. Účastníci pochodu boli myšlienkou nadšení. Padlo meno Juraja Poláka, profesionálneho fotografa žijúceho v Melbourne. Zberateľky krojov Dina Váňová a Ivanka Jančárová nám ochotne prisľúbili zapožičanie cenných kúskov z ich zbierok a odbornú pomoc pri fotografovaní. Jedna vec viedla k ďalšej a o šesť týždňov neskôr vám s radosťou oznamujeme, že fotografie sú nafotené.
